The bomb squad has been scrambled to an area near a busy train station after several small packages reportedly connected by wires were discovered. Bomb disposal experts have secured an area of Warsaw in Poland, and parts of a street were closed to traffic.
It happened after small packages, some with wires visible, were found on a bench on Żupnicza Street near Warsaw’s Eastern Railway Station, according to local reports. The bomb disposal team have been working on site to determine whether the items pose a threat. The object was then dismantled by technicians, and it is believed it posed no threat.
While the closure was in place in the area, traffic, including local bus services, was diverted. The cordon was lifted at around 7.30pm local time.
Polsat News reported that the packages posed no threat and added they contained batteries.
The Polish broadcaster also said “wires were sticking out of the packages, wrapped in grey tape”.
