Borussia Dortmund are not alone in their admiration for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as two Bundesliga rivals are also reportedly showing interest in securing the services of the Super Eagles midfielder this summer, Footynaija.com reports.

Earlier this week, a report emerged, revealing Borussia Dortmund’s desire to sign the Nigeria international, who is expected to be available for a cut-price fee this summer courtesy of a relegation release clause in his contract with Leicester.

Now, Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett has revealed that Die Schwarzgelben could face competition from inside Germany for the signature of the 28-year-old as both Mainz and Hoffenheim have also developed interest in acquiring the services of the Nigerian midfielder.

With three Bundesliga clubs now showing interest in Wilfred Ndidi, Dorsett claims the combative midfielder is more likely to land in the German top-flight rather than secure an immediate return to the Premier League amid links to Everton and Manchester United.

Despite facing potential competition from Mainz and Hoffenheim, Borussia Dortmund still stand a far better chance of landing the Super Eagles star ahead of their domestic rivals. The allure of UEFA Champions League football, as well as the potential to compete for trophies on the domestic front make Die Schwarzgelben a choice destination out of the three clubs.

From all indications so far, Leicester City are open to letting their star midfielder go this summer. However, they will demand a little more than that £9 million for his departure with a £12 million fee, thought to be the satisfactory figure for the Foxes.
