Governor Ademola Adeleke has vowed to sanction radio stations in Osun State that defy national broadcasting rules.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday and obtained by AMILOADED Correspondent in Osogbo.

This warning follows concerns over incitement to violence and repeated breaches of the broadcasting code.

The Governor said some stations have allowed guests to make inflammatory statements capable of causing unrest.

He noted that these stations also deny fair hearing to affected individuals, violating professional standards.

Adeleke described the actions as dangerous and a threat to peace and stability in the state.

He directed the Commissioner for Information to summon General Managers of the affected stations immediately.

The Governor said this is a prelude to more serious actions if violations continue unchecked.

He stressed that while press freedom is guaranteed, it must be guided by responsibility and ethics.

Adeleke also warned opposition politicians against inciting violence over the recent Court of Appeal ruling.

He accused some of attempting to take the law into their hands through provocative public statements.

The Governor said anyone found promoting violence will be dealt with by law enforcement agencies.
