BREAKING: Enugu Senator Okey Ezea is dead

Okey Ezea, the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate is dead.

It was gathered that the Enugu lawmaker died in after a brief illness in Abuja.

He was said to have passed on in the early hours of Wednesday, November 19.

Ezra’s death was made public on Wednesday, November 19, by the lawmaker representing Kogi central senatorial district, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, in a post shared on Facebook described Ezea as a good, wise and gentle man.

She also highlighted the support she received from the late lawmaker during trying times times at the Nigerian Senate.

Her words, “Rest in peace Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea. You were a good man! Wise and gentle.

“Your prayers kept me going through my darkest moments and I will miss you in chambers.

“Enugu North Senatorial District, Kogi Central honours your Senator and mourns with you,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said.

Ezea, a member of the Labour Party was the only Senator from Enugu State who did not defect to the ruling party.

All other lawmakers in the Nigerian Senate have since decamped from the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
