Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has joined the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
The governor announced his defection on Tuesday.
Confirming the development in a post on his social media page, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, described it as a new era.
He stated that Governor Ademola Adeleke, along with his cabinet members and political appointees, had announced Accord as their new party.
Olalekan noted that Accord is now the political party of the people of Osun State and described the moment as the beginning of a new phase referred to as Imole 2.0.
