The lawmaker representing Kogi Central in the Senate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has arrived at the National Assembly complex in the company of her supporters, as she moves to reclaim her seat following the expiration of a six-month suspension.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the senator and her supporters are presently gathered at the first gate of the National Assembly.

The development came just hours after the lawmaker appeared before the Federal High Court in Abuja for trial on alleged defamation of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello. The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/195/2025, is being prosecuted under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024, with prosecutors alleging that she publicly accused Akpabio of directing Bello to orchestrate her assassination in Kogi State.

Earlier in the day, the senator’s office was unsealed by Deputy Director, Sergeant-at-Arms of the National Assembly, Alabi Adedeji, after remaining locked since March 6, 2025, when her suspension took effect.

It remains unclear, however, whether she will be granted access to the chamber immediately, as plenary resumption originally slated for Tuesday has been postponed by two weeks.
