A training aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Airforce, NAF, has crashed in Kaduna State.
While details of the incident are still sketchy, sources told PRNigeria that two pilots were onboard the aircraft at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, intelligence sources confirmed to PRNigeria that other military offensives against terrorists elements are still ongoing in theatre of operations across the country.
In May last year, a military aircraft conveying the former, Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 others, crashed killing all the officers and crew onboard.
Ogun APC stakeholders reject endorsement of Lagos senator, Yayi
A select stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State have rejected an alleged plan to hand over the party’s Ogun West senatorial ticket for next election to Senator Solomon Adeola, alias Yayi, whom they described as a “foreigner.”
Reacting to the recent endorsement of the senatorial ambition of Yayi, senator representing Lagos West Senator, who recently switched to Ogun State, by some politicians in the region, the leaders insisted that the senatorial seat “is not for sale.”
They also insisted that Yayi “is not an indigene of the state.”
The meeting tagged, “Preserving the Integrity of Ogun West Senatorial District,” attracted former commissioners, local government chairmen and members of the state House of Assembly from the region.
The APC leaders, in their separate remarks, described Adeola’s ambition as an aberration and illegal.
They also ruled out alleged endorsement of Senator Adeola as the flag bearer of the APC by some leaders of Ogun West, insisting that such position didn’t represent the collective interest of the region.
A former Chairman of Yewa South Local Government, Jimoh Akinlade, called on the leadership of the party to address the concern before it “leads to an embarrassment for the party.”
Akinlade said, “They should try to review what is going on in Ogun West Senatorial District, if they fail to do this, there is a doom ahead somehow. We love the party, we love what the governor is doing, we don’t want any embarrassment for the governor, hence, they do the right thing.”
In a communique issued after the meeting, the elders resolved that leaders and party stakeholders in the region have neither endorsed nor ceded the APC senatorial ticket to Senator Adeola.
“We condemn in totality the attempt by the serving Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Olamilekan Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, to jump ship and seek the mandate of Ogun West Senatorial district while still holding on the one he currently occupies; a blatant illegality of the most despicable order.
“We must reiterate that Ogun West is arrayed with patriotic and morally upright leaders who will not betray their fatherland by supporting illegality and assault on the land.
“Distinguished Senator Ayo Otegbola, Senator Akin Odunsi, Senator Kola Bajomo, Senator Gbolahan Dada, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Jimoh Olaifa, Kola Lawal, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Hon Biodun Akinlade, Chief Biyi Otegbeye, Hon Salmon Adeleke and Chief Mrs Mary Ogunjobi and Mr Tope Kuyebi are notable names among several others, who are not part of the evil plot to foist the Lagos Senator on Ogun West.
“We, therefore, use this medium to reinforce the indisputable fact that the genuine elders, leaders and stakeholders of Ogun West APC are not in support of the illegal move, and neither have we endorsed anyone for the Senate seat of our senatorial district, talk more of Senator Olamilekan Adeola — who by clear provisions of the constitution and the electoral act is not qualified to contest elections in Ogun State; and anyone or group that has done so, is speaking for themselves and not for Ogun West.
“Finally, we call on the National Working Committee (NWC) of our party, under the leadership of HE Senator Abdullahi Adamu and HE Prince Dapo Abiodun to intervene and halt the illegality being perpetrated in Ogun State. We like to also urge them to use their good offices to implement the admonition of the leader of our party, President Muhammadu Buhari, who said that the processes of the party and the tickets of offices must not be allocated to moneybags and the highest bidder.”
Fr Mbaka has not named next Enugu governor — Adoration Ministry
Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN) has refuted reports that Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has named who will be the next governor of Enugu State.
According to a press statement issued on Thursday and made available to newsmen by the spokesperson for AMEN, Maximus Ikechukwu Ugwuoke, the ministry stated that “Our attention has been drawn to a report in a section of the media that Reverend Father Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu has revealed a governorship aspirant in Enugu as the next governor of the state and has canvassed support for a governorship candidate under a certain political party.
“We make bold to refute the said report as it is false, misleading and ill-conceived.”
Explaining further, Ugwuoke averred that “To put the records straight, Fr Mbaka during his last Sunday mass in his characteristic passion for the good of the state and the country, prayed God to guide the governor of the state His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and give him the wisdom to choose a successor that will build industries, create employment for the youths and care for the Enugu State indigenes and those residing in the state.
“He enjoined the worshippers to pray that the next governor of the state shall be a man after God’s heart and not “a killer”, “a wicked person”, nor someone with “I don’t care personality”.
“Never at any point during the said prayer did Fr Mbaka mention any preferred candidate nor enjoined the governor to consider the candidature of any named governorship hopeful.”
The statement contended that “The satanic antics of the author of this report is to ridicule the name of Father Mbaka if their said named candidate fails to be the next governor of the state. We recall that these same antics were used by the same mischief makers during the last Anambra State gubernatorial election. For this reason, the legal team of the ministry has been detailed to trace the source of this mendacious report and make the authors and the publishers scapegoats.”
The ministry warned desperate politicians and their agents to steer clear of Fr Mbaka and his ministry.
“As the 2023 general election approaches, we are warning politicians and their supporters to stay clear of Fr Mbaka’s name and the name of Adoration Ministry in their political propaganda.
Fr Mbaka does not speak carelessly or out of his own volition on issues of such nature. He only speaks when the Holy Spirit propels him to speak. And the same Holy Spirit has always vindicated him,” the statement concluded.
