Supporters of Senator Iyiola Omisore have been directed to boycott the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates election scheduled for December 9, following allegations that the exercise is undemocratic and improperly timed.

In a statement  issued by Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, Director-General of the Osun Rescue Mission 2026 late Monday, called on loyalists of the former APC National Secretary to shun the process entirely.

Famurewa said the planned delegates primary election was undemocratic and should not be supported by members of the party.

He noted that the Screening Appeal Committee had not released its report, which he said was a necessary step before any delegates election could be conducted.

The DG stated that proceeding with the exercise without the committee’s report would amount to an attempt to favour a section of supporters and delegates at the detriment of others.

Famurewa added that the camp of Senator Omisore was advising its supporters to distance themselves from what he described as a fraudulent process that could cause disaffection within the party.

He warned that participating in the exercise would be seen as aiding an undemocratic arrangement capable of leading the party to failure in the 2026 governorship election.

The DG further noted that party members should instead focus on the December 13 governorship primaries, which he said would determine the future direction of the APC in Osun State.

Famurewa urged supporters to remain committed to rescuing the party from alleged destabilization efforts and to work towards ensuring unity ahead of the 2026 polls.
