President Bola Tinubu has appointed Chief Okey Ezenwa as the Anambra State Renewed Hope Ambassador as part of early mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Ezenwa, a leading member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra, is among the representatives from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory appointed under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative.
The ambassadors were officially inaugurated in Abuja by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, who was named National Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors by President Tinubu on November 25.
Speaking to journalists in Awka on Thursday, Ezenwa described his appointment as a call to rally support for the President in Anambra and the South-East at large.
Ezenwa praised President Tinubu’s leadership style and commitment to the South-East, particularly through the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), which he said is designed to drive economic and social transformation in the region.
“The President is a bold leader who ensures fairness, equity, and transparency in governance. Many federal roads in the South East that were previously dilapidated or abandoned are now being rehabilitated or reconstructed,” he said.
He also credited the President with addressing national security and economic challenges, saying, “Policies and engagements across the six geopolitical zones have contributed to reduced prices of food and other essential commodities.”
Ezenwa commended Governor Uzodimma for his leadership, describing him as a “visionary and hardworking” figure whose administration has inspired progress in Imo State.
“I am delighted to work under Governor Uzodimma. His dedication and leadership will guide us in ensuring the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.
During the ambassadors’ inauguration, Uzodimma had tasked them to return to their respective states and begin immediate mobilisation efforts for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
