The Nigeria Senate has confirmed Dr Gbadamosi Lawal as National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency.
NaijaOnPoint.com.ng (NOP) reports NSIPA is a federal government agency that coordinates the implementation of the social investment programmes in the country.
The Senate confirmed Dr Lawal as the CEO of NSIPA after considering a report presented by the Senate Committee on Poverty Alleviation and Social Investment.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had on August 6th approved the appointment of Lawal to head the agency under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
President Tinubu expects that the appointment would facilitate the needed relief to Nigerians and ensure the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes.
NOP reports Lawal holds a doctorate degree in education, and he has previously served as a Commissioner in Katsina State.
