THE pay dispute between the Super Eagles and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been settled, according to captain William Troost-Ekong and the national team’s media unit.
The players of the team boycotted training in Rabat, Morocco yesterday, demanding that outstanding bonuses and allowances dating back up to two year be paid.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Gabon tomorrow in the first semi-final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup play-offs in Rabat.
Although the NFF has not made any public statements regarding the matter, Troost-Ekong and the Super Eagles media unit assured in brief notes today that the players are now willing to resume training.
“Issues resolved. Super Eagles to train at 5pm,” the media unit stated at exactly 4.27pm.
“Issue RESOLVED. We are together and as before focused on the games ahead! 🇳🇬 @NGSuperEagles,” Troost-Ekong posted on X at 4.46pm.
Twenty-three of the 24 players invited for the key clash are expected to be involved in the training session in Rabat, including Galatasaray striker and team talisman Victor Osimhen and United States of America-based midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, who only arrived in the Moroccan capital yesterday.
The only player whose arrival in Rabat has not been confirmed is Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
If the Super Eagles beat Gabon, they will take on either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the African play-offs final on Sunday, with the sole ticket to the intercontinental play-offs on offer.
