Bright Osayi-Samuel’s once-promising move to Beşiktaş has taken another twist, with the Turkish giants now laying down a strict condition for any potential revival of the deal, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian full-back, who had been on the verge of sealing a move to the Istanbul side, saw negotiations collapse at the eleventh hour following an unexpected wage hike — reportedly instigated by his father. The late demand saw Beşiktaş abruptly halt proceedings, despite travel and medical arrangements already being made.
According to sources close to the club, Osayi-Samuel has since reached out in a bid to rekindle talks, insisting he was unaware of the altered financial terms. The 27-year-old is understood to have expressed his regret and willingness to reopen discussions on a new deal.
But Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı, who is said to be displeased with how events unfolded, is standing firm. The club have no intention of reviving the original €1.9 million per year, three-year contract that was previously agreed. Instead, the only route back into negotiations is if Osayi-Samuel agrees to a reduced salary package, according to Sporx.

In the meantime, Beşiktaş have shifted their focus to other targets. Free agent Kyle Walker-Peters, following his exit from Southampton, and ex-Wolves defender Nelson Semedo are both under consideration as potential alternatives.
Birmingham City have also shown interest in Osayi-Samuel, but their offer reportedly came in well below the €1 million mark — far short of expectations and not enough to tempt the player.
With top-level options narrowing, Osayi-Samuel now finds himself at a crossroads. Unless he lowers his financial demands, the window for a big move could close altogether.
Beşiktaş are willing to revisit the deal — but only on their terms. The ball, quite literally, is now in Osayi-Samuel’s court.
