Britney Spears opened up about her marriage to actor and model, Sam Asghari, and believes it was nothing more than a “fake distraction.”
The former couple tied the knot in June 2022 before Sam filed for divorce in August 2023, which was finalized in May 2024.
“The hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years,” Britney wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears.”
Britney Spears says she’s finally healing after her marriage with Sam Asghari and being cut off from her sons for 3 years:

According to Brit, it was “weird me and Sam were married,” noting that “It almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it.”
Britney was also trapped in a 13-year conservatorship and fought for years for her freedom. Her father placed her in the conservatorship in 2008 following a mental health crisis. The conservatorship ended in July 2021 when her father was suspended, and the conservatorship was fully terminated in November 2021.
The pop star appears to be ready for the next level of success.
“I’m so hungry it hurts and when I eat its like its my first time ever eating in my life,” she continued. “I believe although I loved my home there is waaay too much abuse and trauma in there.”
