Britney Spears hoped to spend the holidays with both of her sons, but that did not fully happen, according to sources.
Speaking to Page Six, a source told them that Spears tried to convince her eldest son, Sean Preston, to join her and his brother, Jayden, in California for Christmas.
However, the 20-year-old “chose not to” make the trip because he “wasn’t ready to meet her halfway,” which reportedly left the singer feeling “really hurt.”
Instead, Sean Preston spent the holiday in Louisiana with his grandmother, Lynne Spears, and aunt Jamie Lynn Spears. The source told US Weekly he felt comfortable there and thought it “would be a nice way to spend” Christmas surrounded by extended family.
Spears appeared to react shortly after with a shady Instagram post.
“Merry late Christmas to my beautiful family who have never disrespected me, harmed me, ever done anything completely unacceptable or caused unbelievable trauma,” she wrote.
While Sean Preston was away, Spears did celebrate Christmas in Los Angeles with her younger son, Jayden, 19.
According to the outlet, the two had an “amazing” and “beautiful” day together. “They laughed a lot and bonded more than they have in a while,” the source said, adding that the time together “deepened their connection.”
The pair reportedly shared a meal, watched movies, listened to music and spent time with close family friends.
