The summer season has officially been launched at Brussels Airport with a total of 175 direct destinations that will be offered by 58 different airlines.
According to a recent statement, the airport had added flights to nine new destinations, including Toronto (Canada), Billund (Denmark), Seville (Spain), Kayseri (Turkey), Monastir (Tunisia) and Béjaïa, Constantine, Oran and Tlemcen (Algeria), SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
In addition, the statement reveals that Brussels Airlines is adding four new planes to its fleet and will fly to more destinations like Billund, Warsaw, Brindisi, Djerba, Monastir and Zurich.The airline will continue to organise flights to two destinations in North America and 17 in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In total, this airline will be offering flights to 92 destinations this summer.
On the other hand, TUI fly, which is a Belgian airline, has also started new flights to Al Hoceima and Rabat, thus expanding its offer to ten destinations in Morocco.
This airline has also launched direct flights from Brussels airport to four destinations in Algeria, including Bejaia, Constantine, Oran and Tlemcen.
During this summer season, the total number of destinations TUI fly is flying to from the Brussels Airport is 73.
“Transavia has based a second aircraft at Brussels Airport and offers nine destinations including Malaga, Seville, Zakynthos and Santorini, which are new destinations for the airline” the statement issued by the Brussels Airport reads.
As for Corendon, it has three planes based in Brussels this summer. In addition to the five destinations in Turkey, Corendon is also offering direct flights to Bourgas, Hurghada, Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes, Palma and Tenerife.
Two new destinations will also be offered by Vueling, which are Bilbao and Seville, making a total of seven destinations in Spain. At the same time, SunExpress is introducing two new destinations, Dalaman and Kayseri, and currently is serving seven destinations in Turkey.
In addition, this summer Ryanair will offer over 70 flights per week to a total of 12 destinations, including flights to Pisa. Starting August 1, of this year, Air Canada will also launch five weekly flights to Toronto, including a daily flight to Montreal as well. These will then bring its flights to Canada to twelve flights a week.
Furthermore, the Brussels airport network this summer will include 35 destinations, which are five in North America (New York, Newark, Chicago, Washington, Montreal, Toronto), four others in Central America with TUI flights (Punta Cana, Cancun, Varadero and Montego Bay). Brussels Airport will also offer about 21 sub-Saharan destinations, including 17 of Johannesburg, Cape Town and Mauritius from Air Belgium, Addis Ababa from Ethiopian Airlines and Kigali from Rwandair.
Included in the 35 destinations of the Brussels airport network are also the following destinations:
- Three destinations in the Gulf including Abu Dhabi by Etihad, Doha by Qatar Airways and Dubai by Emirates
- Two in Asia – Beijing through a daily flight by Hainan Airlines and Tokyo twice a week with ANA
With such an offer that Brussels Airport has already made possible, it is expected that many passengers will be attracted from the beginning of the Easter holiday week.
