Factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has lambasted the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his directives regarding the by-elections across the country.
Naijaonpoint reports that Peter Obi had urged his supporters to vote for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming by-elections.
Obi explained that his appeal is due to the LP having no candidates recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ballot amid an internal crisis.

However, Abure, in a statement on Friday, described Peter Obi’s directive as misleading, mischievous and delusional.
Abure urged Labour Party members to disregard the directives of the former Governor of Anambra State, stressing that Nigerians now know his true personality.
While insisting that Peter Obi is responsible for the crisis in the party, Abure also accused him of receiving so much goodwill from the party leadership and turning around to pay them with evil.
He said, “The attention of the leadership of the Labour Party has been drawn to a statement by the party’s former presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi. Don’t listen to him.
“Nigerians have come to know who Peter Obi really is.
“This is why we have maintained that Peter Obi lacks the competence, character and capacity to actualise the vision of a new Nigeria.
“Nigerians should not forget in a hurry that it was Peter Obi that created the crisis in the Labour Party which he is now citing as a reason why people should not vote for the party.”
