A member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/ Itesiwaju/ Iwajowa/ Kajola federal constituency, Hon Sina Oyedeji, his counterpart from Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North federal constituency, Hon Adebayo Adepoju and a former governor of Oyo State, Barrister Hazim Gbolarumi have hailed the performance of voters and security agents in Saturday’s bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Our correspondent reports that the trio are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
They also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the election.
The trio, who monitored the election, made these declarations while addressing journalists on Saturday.
They spoke with journalists at Agbowo area of Ibadan.
Oyedeji said that the voters, security agencies and INEC did well.
Oyedeji said, “So far so good we have been to many places, it is very encouraging, everything is very peaceful.
“No noise, the police and security agencies have done their job. INEC were very prompt. The voters conducted themselves peacefully. We have been to Bodija, Bashorun and we are now in Agbowo.”
Adepoju while speaking said that the people were happy to elect their leader.
He maintained that the people of the area have been missing a federal representative in the last one year.
Adepoju said: “As you know, election is very dynamic. But I will speak from what I have seen today.
“The election looks very peaceful. People are enthusiastic about the election.
“People are excited to elect their representative which they have missed in the last one year. We are excited about what the outcome of the election will be”.
Gbolarumi, in his reaction, described the exercise as peaceful.
He commended the voters, security agencies and the INEC for their peaceful conduct.
