The fifth person arrested in connection to the murder of rapper Young Dolph has had all charges against him dismissed.
Shundale Barnett, the cousin of Justin Johnson, who was convicted for the murder, was arrested and charged with Accessory After the Fact, First-Degree Murder, Criminal Attempt, First-Degree Murder, and Theft of Property, $10,000-$60,000.
He allegedly helped his cousin flee from the cops.
The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office decided not to pursue charges against Barnett for being an accessory after the fact. The office said his warrant should have been redacted before his arrest.
“When Barnett was originally apprehended, the U.S. Marshals charged him with Accessory after the fact. However, at that time our office did not formally pursue charges, and the charge was later retracted. As a result, the warrant should have been recalled—as we stated last year. Our office is currently reviewing the status of this matter,” a spokesperson for the office told FOX13.
