Charlie Sheen is opening up about the depths of his drug addiction, revealing that even the Mexican cartel had to step in.

During Sunday’s episode of Australia’s 60 Minutes, the 60-year-old actor recalled being abruptly cut off after repeatedly buying cocaine in large quantities.

“They did, they did. They had never seen someone acquiring that kind of weight,” Sheen said when asked by the interviewer if the cartel had stopped selling to him.

Sheen explained that the sheer volume of drugs he requested raised suspicions. “The only other people that they were delivering that kind of weight to were dealers. They thought I was dealing on the side.”

Sheen admitted his use became so extreme that questions about “seven-gram rocks of crack cocaine” didn’t surprise him. He joked at one point, “I’m going to need a bigger pipe,” before clarifying that while he never measured the drugs, that was the amount typically cooked into rock form.

Sheen is currently promoting his new memoir, The Book of Sheen, and the Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen.

The documentary features his former drug dealer, Marco, who described attempts to taper Sheen’s addiction by diluting the cocaine with baking soda. Director Andrew Renzi explained, “Eventually there was just no crack, no cocaine in it. Charlie was just smoking baking soda.”
