“I keep saying this, and people think I’m encouraging cheating. Cheating is not a deal-breaker for me, but it comes with a catch-22,” Makinwa explained.
She pointed out that societal narratives often unfairly portray cheating as predominantly a male issue. “As I grow older, I’ve realised it’s not just men who cheat. Why do we always treat cheating as a special issue for men? Do you know how easy it is for a woman to cheat? It’s even easier for us than for men,” she remarked.
Makinwa also addressed men directly during her podcast, discussing expectations in relationships. “Let me address you guys: For men, you’re spending money and doing the work while we are the ones receiving. You have to do the chasing and spending. You know how we juggle work and relationships,” she stated.
She clarified that women often cheat due to unmet needs, saying, “A woman cheats because there’s probably something lacking in the relationship.”
