Chris Rock is seemingly open to hosting the Oscars in future years after he was slapped across the face on stage by actor Will Smith after making a joke about the Hollywood star’s wife.
“You never know. This is what I would say, the most miserable people on earth are people that can’t forgive,” he told E! News, who asked him whether he’d consider hosting the prestigious event in the future. “And not just people, you have to forgive yourself sometimes. So, hey, you never know.”
Smith won Best Actor in 2022, apologized privately and publicly to Rock after the incident, but at the time, Rock rejected his attempts.
Smith was banned from the Academy for 10 years and has struggled to build his reputation back up in the industry.
“I live in forgiveness,” Rock added. “True love starts at forgiveness.”
Earlier this month, Tony Rock revealed that he is still waiting to put hands on Smith to avenge his brother.
“That sh*t ain’t f*cking over.”
