Nigeria midfielder Christantus Uche scored the opener for Getafe in their hard-fought 2-1 win over Girona at Estadio Municipal de Montilivi on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The goal was just Uche’s third of the campaign in what has been a tremendous year for him. Although Yangel Herrera scored an equaliser for Girona in the second half, Borja Mayoral scored again to seal the win for Getafe.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Getafe from lower league club Ceuta last summer and has made a significant impact at the club.

This season, Uche has been linked with top clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and other Premier League sides. Getafe have already slammed a €25 million price-tag on the Nigerian, and they might cash in on him in the summer.

How good is Christantus Uche?

Christantus Uche is good at many things. Primarily an attacking midfielder, the youngster plays box-to-box. He is very strong on the ball and hardly gets builled while in possession.

Uche is also a very smart player who is great at getting past challenges and creating space for himself. The former Ceuta star also has a nice passing range. He always has an eye for the forward pass instead of going back or slowing down attacks.

Most importantly, Uche is a hardworker on the pitch. He covers every blade of grass and runs after the ball for the entire 90 minutes.

How Christantus Uche can help Nigeria’s Super Eagles

Uche could be a valuable addition to Nigeria’s midfield. In the Super Eagles squad, no player operates like him.

Alex Iwobi has the job of creating for the Super Eagles, but he has struggled to make a big impact over the years.

Christantus is a great ball carrier, and although he might not have the ability to break defensive lines with a pass, his speed and strength are new dynamics that could improve the team.

Nonetheless, the 21-year-old midfielder is still growing and could improve in some areas of his game. But with what he has shown in the last six months, he will do well with the Super Eagles.
