An operative of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) has been injured in an attack by some bandits in Dogon Awo Village, Faskari, LGA in Katsina State.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert said the attack which took place on Sunday, August 24, was repelled by troops of the Nigerian Army.
According to Makama, several cattle belonging to residents of the community were rustled by the bandits during the attack.
He added that the troops in a joint operation with the police, local vigilantes, community security groups, and Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) confronted the bandits in a fierce gun battle.
During the operation, they successfully forced the criminals to retreat into the forest.
“While fleeing, the assailants stole a herd of cattle grazing at the village outskirts. In the pursuit, one CJTF member, Musa Abubakar, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, while four others remain missing.
“Abubakar was rushed to the General Hospital, Funtua for treatment. Search and rescue operations for the missing members are ongoing,” Makama wrote on X.
