‘Collection of individuals’ – Wolves star Pablo Sarabia throws Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe under the bus as he blasts Paris Saint-Germain dressing room

Wolves star Pablo Sarabia has taken aim at Paris Saint-Germain for being a ‘collection of individuals’ following his January move to the Midlands.

The 30-year-old made the switch to Molineux earlier this year in a bargain £4.4million deal, where he has since become a key player under Julen Lopetegui.

Spanish attacking midfielder Sarabia spent almost four years at Parc des Princes after joining Les Parisiens in 2019, where he scored 22 goals in 98 games.

And despite stating it was an honour to play alongside Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, he has hit out at the dressing room harmony at PSG.

He has declared that unlike at Wolves, it never felt like he was playing for a team when he was contracted to the Ligue 1 giants.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Sarabia said: “It was amazing to play with Messi, Mbappe and Neymar and a very good experience.

“But for me the most crucial thing is to feel important in the team.

“I prefer to be at another team to feel that togetherness, to be part of it and be a member of the team and a family, rather than just a collection of individuals.

“I wasn’t happy not playing. It’s very difficult to play with the level of players at PSG so I made the decision to come here.

“In my career I have gone through a lot of difficult moments but now I think I want to enjoy the job.

“I feel that right now I’m in the prime of my career.” 

Since joining Wolves, he has helped the club move out of the bottom three having chipped in with a solitary goal in his seven Premier League outings.

And Sarabia has revealed Lopetegui proved pivotal in his decision to swap France for England having played under him for Spain’s Under-19 and U21 sides.

He remarked: “[Lopetegui] called me very early [after his appointment].

“When he called, it was key because I needed the coach to believe in me.

“We have already had a relationship for a long time. He’s a very good coach and I like his DNA – the way he coaches and the things he does.

“For that reason, I was very excited to come here. I enjoy working with him and I think we’re going to have a very good moment here together.”
