Six kidnap victims including the Seriki Fulani of Asinwe community in Okehi local government area of Kogi State have been rescued.
The victims were rescued from their abductors by the troops of 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army Lokoja.
The operation, Politics Nigeria gathered was in collaboration with other security agencies operating around the Obajana axis of the state.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday in Obajana, General Kasim Sidi, Commander 12 Brigade Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Accord III said the operation was successful dollwoung intelligence gathering.
Represented by the Commanding Officer 126 Battalion, Lt.-Col. Francis Nwoffiah, the commander said the troops were able to track the terrorists in their hideouts in the forest.
“The six victims comprised four males and two females. The rescued victims include the Seriki Fulani of Asinwe community in Okehi local government area, who was abducted from his residence.
“Four of the victims were kidnapped on August 12 in the Asinwe community, while two were abducted on July 28 in the Apata community, Lokoja.
“The victims were successfully rescued unhurt and are set to be reunited with their families after receiving medical attention,” he said.
