Coronation Registrars Limited, a subsidiary of Coronation Group, has announced the launch of a fully automated bond processing workflow covering onboarding, computation, and electronic payment notification, to ease challenges around trading the financial instrument.
The move makes Coronation Registrars the first registrar in Nigeria to digitise the entire bond processing cycle, signalling a significant leap forward in capital market infrastructure.
According to the firm, the automation addresses longstanding challenges in the bond market, such as manual delays, calculation errors, and fragmented investor notifications.
So by streamlining operations, the solution reduces turnaround time for issuers, provides investors with faster and more reliable service, and enhances transparency across every stage of the bond lifecycle.
This milestone reinforces Nigeria’s ambition to deepen its debt markets and attract more domestic and foreign investment. Automated bond processing ensures that Issuers can meet obligations efficiently, regulators have clearer audit trails, and investors enjoy consistent, error-free transactions.
“By building this capacity, Coronation Registrars is strengthening confidence in fixed-income instruments and aligning the market with international best practices,” the company said.
Speaking on the development, the chief executive of Coronation Registrars Limited, Mr Seyi Owoturo, said the firm had always prioritised innovation and it was important to advance this to the bond market.
“Our drive has always been to lead through innovation and capacity. By automating the entire bond processing cycle, we are not only improving speed and accuracy but also redefining the registrar service experience in Nigeria.
“For Issuers, it means predictable timelines and flawless execution. For investors, it means peace of mind and timely payments. This is how we build trust, attract capital, and power the growth of our markets,” he said.
The initiative also comes on the heels of Coronation Registrars’ ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Certification, a recognition of its adherence to rigorous international standards. The certification underscores the company’s long-term commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and investor protection.
