A Kano Shari’a Court has ordered three men to remain in custody over the alleged murder of popular social media commentator Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu.
The defendants, Aliyu Adamu, Salihu Haruna and Sani Muhammad, were accused of conspiring to kill the commentator in Kano.
Police told the Kofar Kudu Upper Sharia Court that the incident happened at Dan Shagamu’s residence in Gaida Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area.
According to the allegations, the three men went to the residence at about 11pm on September 8, 2026, where they allegedly attacked and killed him by slitting his throat.
The police subsequently brought the defendants before the court on charges bordering on conspiracy and culpable homicide.
All three men pleaded not guilty to the allegations brought against them.
Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola, who presided over the proceedings, ordered that the defendants be remanded in a correctional centre pending further proceedings.
The court fixed November 17, 2026, for the continuation of the case.
The remand order means the defendants will remain in custody until the matter returns to court, while the allegations against them are yet to be determined.
