The hype for Creed III continues to grow with the release of a new official poster, showcasing Michael B. Jordan in his next match as Adonis Creed. Serving as the third installment of the hit movie series, Creed III will also be directed by Jordan, who makes his directorial debut with the feature film. Creed faces perhaps his toughest challenge yet when he gets into the ring with a new foe played by Jonathan Majors (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), though the new poster seems to show a moment in the battle where Creed has the upper hand.
The official synopsis for Creed III is as follows:
Jordan is directing the film using a screenplay written by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin; thet wo crafted the story with Ryan Coogler. The film is produced by Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Ryan Coolger, Micahel B. Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, Jonathan Glickman, and Sylvester Stallone. It’s executive produced by Sev Ohanian, Zinzi Coogler, Nicolas Stern, and Adam Rosenberg.
“It’s also like having a superpower: within your performance, you can also direct,” Jordan recently told Empire of having the ability to direct himself in Creed III. “It saves some time in some areas, because you get a chance to self-correct in the moment. So that’s a liberating experience to have. It became fun after a while.”
On Adonis Creed’s newest challenger, Jordan has also teased of Majors’ Damian, “He’s a grounded character who’s antagonistic by nature, but it comes from an honest place, real emotions. He’s not a moustache-twirling villain; I wanted people to understand him, and to make it hard for people. I think those make for the most complicated and interesting ones to watch.”
Along with Jordan and Jonathan Majors, Creed III also stars Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad.
Creed III will be released in theaters and IMAX on March 3, 2023. You can view a trailer below.
