Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the world’s most famous athletes, has had his children denied admission to St. Julian’s School, an elite British institution in Portugal, Soccernet.football reports.
Despite his global fame and immense wealth, Ronaldo’s five children were refused entry after concerns were raised by parents already enrolled at the prestigious school.
Ronaldo, who boasts over 638 million followers on Instagram and recently launched a YouTube channel with 62.8 million subscribers, faces the flip side of his incredible fame.
As he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez prepare to relocate to Portugal and build a luxury home in Cascais, they sought to enroll their children in St. Julian’s School.
However, the plans were halted as existing parents at the school opposed the admission, citing concerns about the potential disruption and lack of privacy.
According to reports, parents feared that Ronaldo’s presence would bring excessive attention to the school, impacting the safety and routine of other students, many of whom also come from wealthy and influential families.
Adriano Silva Martins, a presenter on the program ‘V+Fama,’ explained as per AS, “Some parents don’t want the school to be the focus of constant news and questioned whether this would somehow change the routine.”
Founded in 1932, St. Julian’s School is a prestigious institution that offers cutting-edge facilities, including outdoor sports courts and advanced learning environments.
It seemed the perfect fit for Ronaldo’s children, who are already showing an interest in sports. However, despite the school’s annual fees of $31,000 being a mere fraction of Ronaldo’s fortune, the family’s immense fame proved to be a stumbling block.
