A member of the House of Representatives representing Obanliku/Bekwarra/Obudu Federal Constituency in Cross River State, Peter Akpanke has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The first time lawmaker had for several months given indication that he was leaving the PDP and had attended several events of the APC in Cross River State.

He was in attendance when the APC-led government in Cross River State marked two years under governor Prince Bassey Otu on May 29.

The lawmakers defected on Saturday in an event attended by Senator Stephen Odey, Cross River State Commissioner for Education among other party bigwigs in the state at the Obudu LGA Headquarters in Cross River State.

Speaking while being welcomed to the party by party executives and supporters, he promised to “make the party strong” and “do what it takes for the progress of the party in Cross River.”

The lawmakers hailed Governor Otu for his leadership and performance since he became Cross River State governor and pledged his loyalty promising to play his part for the development of the state.
