There will be no more Coppa Italia action for Ademola Lookman this season after his Atalanta side crashed out of the competition on Tuesday night, Soccernet.football reports.

Lookman, who has been sidelined since late January with a knee injury suffered in training, watched from home as Atalanta fell to a 1-0 defeat against Bologna.

Argentine forward Santiago Castro scored the only goal of the match in the 80th minute at the Gewiss Stadium, sealing Atalanta’s exit from the tournament.

The Super Eagles attacker, expected to remain out of action until late February, will also miss Atalanta’s upcoming Serie A fixtures against Verona, Cagliari, and Empoli. Additionally, he will be unavailable for both legs of Atalanta’s UEFA Champions League clash with Club Brugge.

Last season, Lookman played a key role in Atalanta’s run to the Coppa Italia final, where they ultimately lost to Juventus.

In Germany, Frank Onyeka and FC Augsburg also suffered cup disappointment after a 1-0 defeat to Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals.

Deniz Undav’s 30th-minute strike proved decisive, ending Augsburg’s four-game unbeaten run and sending Stuttgart into the semifinals.

Meanwhile, in Spain, Christantus Uche and Getafe were eliminated from the Copa del Rey after a crushing 5-0 loss to Atletico Madrid.

Uche received a yellow card in the 8th minute but played the full match as Getafe endured their heaviest defeat of the season.
