Embattled rapper DaBaby is fighting to have a $4 million lawsuit filed against him after an alleged attack on Brandon Bills, the brother of DaBaby’s ex-girlfriend DaniLeigh, at a bowling alley in 2022.
DaBaby wants the case completely thrown out of the Los Angeles Superior Court judge.
“[Bills] commenced this baseless lawsuit on February 16, 2022. More than three years have passed, and Plaintiff has failed to serve [DaBaby],” the filing reads. “[Bills] has not made one attempt at serving by publication. This is appalling, considering this Court issued an Order for Publication on April 10, 2024.”
Bills alleged he was at a bowling alley in Southern California back in 2022 when DaBaby and his crew walked in and began attacking him for no reason. Bills claimed his injuries were severe, and he has been left with expensive medical bills, and that he also suffered psychological damage.
At the time, DaBaby claimed he acted in self-defense. In October, he claimed he was confident he would beat the case.
“I don’t see that going well for the man,” DaBaby said on Bootleg Kev. “Threatening me on camera with all the platforms out there—doesn’t make sense,” he continued. “You’re gonna have to pay those lawyer fees, my boy. They ain’t making me pay.”
