Dangote, Otedola Mobile Phones Hacked

Dangote and Otedola

The chief executive officer of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote and the chairman of First HoldCo Plc, Femi Otedola, have reportedly had their mobile phones infiltrated by hackers.

Sources in the camps of both men disclosed to The Cable that their phones were compromised over the past week.

While Otedola’s phone was hacked once, the mobile device of Africa’s richest man was hacked twice in two days.

It was gathered that the hackers have made financial demands.

Although it is not immediately clear if they have both regained access to their phones.

The hackers are asking for money from both men,” an insider told TheCable.

Dangote and Otedola have a longstanding friendship, with both men often describing each other as “brothers”.

Otedola was in attendance when Dangote recently announced the plan to expand his refinery’s capacity from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day.

Describing Dangote as “Africa’s pride”, Otedola had said his friend’s legacy investments will define generations.

He had said: “Aliko’s relentless commitment to investing in Nigeria and Africa will outlive him as these are legacy investments that will define generations.

Soon, Nigerians will own part of this refinery, a powerful reminder that this vision is not just for Dangote, but for all Nigerians and Africans.”

Otedola, author of the best-selling book ‘Making It Big’, recently expanded his stake in First HoldCo Plc with the acquisition of 64.87 million shares valued at N2.01 billion.
