In Daredevil #25 by Saladin Ahmed, José Luis Soares, and Oren Junior, Matt Murdock is looking high and low for the Kingpin, who has been taking out the leaders of the crime syndicate, Nouvelle Direction. Daredevil teams up with Elektra and the duo confront their nemesis in a church, but Fisk manages to give both his opponents the slip.
The two briefly discuss their next steps, but Matt moves away from hero talk and opens up to Elektra. Daredevil tells Elektra that he wants to be with her again and give them a real shot at happiness. Elektra agrees to start with dinner and the two decide to embrace whatever comes after that without fear.

Ever since they met, Daredevil and Elektra have been in a real roller-coaster relationship. As much as they desire one another, something has always kept them apart. Sometimes it’s death, sometimes it’s hurt feelings. But even during this most recent era of Daredevil’s life, he knew deep down inside that the only woman for him was Elektra.
It’s always nice to see fan-favorite characters get together, but is this truly the start of a long-term relationship for Daredevil and Elektra? They’ve tried a lot of times before and something’s always wedged in between them. But after Matt’s harrowing adventures with the Seven Deadly Sins, it seems like he really wants to rekindle what he had with Elektra.

Despite their lack of success with others, Daredevil and Elektra work together, because they fundamentally understand one another. They share a history few could understand and the spark between them has never died. Perhaps this slower start for the Marvel couple is what they need to really take inventory and see if they’re ready to commit to being truly happy.
