Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, has dismissed rumours about her HIV status, releasing her latest test result to prove she is not infected with the virus.
Naijaonpoint understands that the controversy began after a content creator, Olaoluwa Segun, published a video alleging that Amusa was among five Nigerian actors living with HIV.
Reacting via her social media platforms, the actress described the claim as false and malicious, vowing to take legal action against the source of the rumour.
Amusa recalled that she had first made her HIV-negative result public in 2019 as part of a health awareness campaign.
“That post was about encouraging people to know their status, not to signal that I was affected,” she explained.
She insisted that spreading unverified claims about her health was damaging and unacceptable.
In response to the renewed allegations, Amusa on Tuesday posted a photo of her latest HIV test result on Instagram, which confirmed her negative status.
Alongside the image, she used the opportunity to encourage her fans and Nigerians generally to adopt regular HIV screening.
“I still feel the need to encourage individuals to get tested and know their HIV status. It is better to know your status so that you can guide yourself and save others too,” she captioned.
