Of all the match-ups in the opening rounds of the DC K.O. tournament to decide the deadliest warrior, the bout between Wonder Woman and Lobo, the tough-talking space biker, didn’t seem like it would be a close affair. After all, fans know that Captain Atom can beat Superman, but to put the company’s most iconic heroine, demigod, and immortal warrior up against the B-Tier Czarnian seemed like a done deal. But apparently, nobody told Lobo.
And so, in the opening round of Wonder Woman vs. Lobo by Joëlle Jones, Jason Howard, Cary Nord, Daniel Bayliss, and Tamra Bonvillain, Lobo unleashes a fury of punches straight to Diana’s head… killing her in seconds. Leaving readers stunned, and the accepted power rankings of the DC Universe in desperate need of an update, before Lobo makes his Supergirl movie debut.

Even Though He Loses The Battle, Wonder Woman Can’t Beat Lobo Alone
The shocking turn of events will take some time to process, but there is no ‘fine print’ or asterisks on this feat, whatsoever. In their base forms, in a fight to the death, Lobo kills Diana with one unleashed sequence of punches. The following rounds further emphasize the advantage to Lobo, as well. While Diana takes both, she does so by somehow recruiting Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, and Yara Flor, but only defeating Lobo with his own bike. And seeing Lobo’s immortality revoked before she can claim the victory.
Comic fans will recall that Lobo has proven himself equal to Superman in recent canon, already an accomplishment with nothing to boost his latent Czarnian strength. But now that he has proven capable of killing Wonder Woman with nothing but punches, and doing so seemingly without breaking a sweat, the power rankings will have changed for all time.
