Veteran Nollywood actress Idowu Philips, popularly known as Mama Rainbow, has penned an open letter to God after her 82nd birthday.
The energetic Nollywood actress openly appreciated God’s love and faithfulness towards her.
Mama Rainbow, one of the oldest living Nollywood veterans, humbly thanked God for guiding and helping her.
She shared a video of herself looking young and energetic on her Instagram page, accompanied by the letter.
She is thankful for the grace, life and mercy that sustained her from birth through every trial and triumph.
She acknowledged God’s unwavering presence, help, and strength during her weakness, as well as her faithfulness and protection.
“An Open Letter to God
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and humility. Thank You for saving my life and guiding me through every moment since 1942 until this very day. Your grace, love, and mercy have sustained me through every trial and triumph.
Thank You, Father, for Your unwavering presence, for lifting me when I was weak, and for blessing me with the strength to keep moving forward. I am forever grateful for Your protection and faithfulness.
With all my heart, I say thank You, Lord,” Mama Rainbow wrote on Instagram.
Kemi Filani recalls that Mama Rainbow bagged a new title at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA Night of Icons.
The event which was held to honour veterans making impact in the Nigerian movie industry hosted Mama Rainbow, Richard Mofe Damijo RMD, Kate Henshaw, Chinedu Ikedieze, Bimbo Akintola, Patience Ozorkwo, Joke Silva, Iyabo Ojo and the anchor Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth.
Mama Rainbow who shared clips from the event on Instagram, is grateful for her fame since 1942 till date. She is thankful for being part of the Nollywood veterans cocktail night.
At the event, the actress bagged the name ‘mother of artists’ which she included in her caption.
