Born on 17 December 1994 in the heart of Ibadan’s Iyana Church neighborhood, Deefresh grew up as the second of four siblings in a tight-knit family. His older brother, Alabi Ibrahim Akorede, is a successful importer and exporter in Apapa and an active APC politician.
Tragedy struck in Deefresh’s childhood when he lost his father just as he was finishing primary school despite earning a scholarship. Facing financial hardship, he fought for his education and dreams against the odds.

Growing up in a modest background, Deefresh found solace in music. Inspired by Olamide’s raw lyricism and Wiz Khalifa’s unapologetic vibe, especially the hustler-flex narrative of a street artist making it big; he discovered both hope and an artistic voice.
