Disney+ Restores Deleted Stan Lee and Reg E. Cathey Tributes to Marvel Shows

Published

SPIDEY HOMECOMING LEE

Once again, Disney+ has restored the original versions of some of their Marvel shows, this time restoring the tributes to Stan Lee and Reg E. Cathey to the final episodes of The Punisher and Luke Cage respectively. Following the arrival of the former Netflix Marvel Television series on Disney+, some fans had expected there could possibly be cuts made to the frequently adult-themed shows such as Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and The Punisher. However, what was not expected was the removal of tributes to Marvel legend Lee and Luke Cage star Cathey, and it led to a certain amount of outcry amongst fans on social media.

The edits were not the first changes to Marvel shows to be noticed by eagle-eyed fans recently. Last month it was pointed out that an episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a scene altered to remove blood splatters and another changed to remove the moment an assailant was skewered in the shoulder by a metal bar. These were later said to have been made in error when alternate version of the episode was uploaded to make a correction to the episode’s credits. Disney said that the original version would be restored soon.

Now it looks like Disney has once again been backtracking on edits that can only be assumed to have been done by accident while Netflix branding was being removed from the shows. This means that the original tribute to Stan Lee seen after the finale of The Punisher, and the one in memory of actor Reg E. Cathey from the final episode of Luke Cage, in which he appeared as the father of the title character, are now both back where many will agree they belong.

The arrival of Marvel Television’s Netflix shows has been welcomed by many fans, but not everyone was pleased to see the more mature Marvel shows being added to the Disney+ platform in the U.S.. Until now, the U.S. version of the platform has only carried family-friendly programs and movies, but the arrival of the likes of Daredevil led to the introduction of parental controls being added. In most international locations, Disney+ already features these controls and includes mature content via the Star brand, which carries a lot of content that is found on Hulu in America.

The changes on the platform were called the “death of Disney+” by a select few because it meant the streamer was “no longer safe” for children to watch without controls or restrictions. Obviously, this is far from the case, and the addition of parental controls is really just bringing the U.S. version of Disney+ in line with most other countries and allowing Disney to streamline their output.

There have certainly been some strange issues with the Disney+ platform recently when it comes to their Marvel content. Whether these edits would have remained in place if they had not been picked up so quickly by fans is something that we will never know, but it is fair to say that there will be a lot of subscribers who will be keeping a close eye on the platform and its content for other such edits made to existing content.

Marvel Fans Respond to the First Sight of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

she hulk cgi

The long-awaited first trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, has finally landed. And Marvel fans are all talking about the same thing: the CGI. Used to bring the title character to life (because, of course, it would be difficult to do it any other way) fans have flocked to social media to discuss the quality of the CGI used to transform Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany into a mean, green, Hulk.

Many fans feel that, considering the budgets given to such Marvel projects, and how integral She-Hulk is to the show (it is called She-Hulk: Attorney at Law after all) that the quality should be much higher.

Several fans have even been left reminiscing about some of the worst CGI moments in cinematic history. Which, while a bit harsh, is no doubt far from the effect that Marvel Studios were hoping for.

The footage has even left some fans wondering why CGI was used in the first place, suggesting that She-Hulk may have been better realized using practical effects.

Thankfully, it’s not all bad, with many arguing that the CGI on many shots in the trailer is likely unfinished. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is still three months from release, giving Marvel plenty of time to add some finishing touches and hopefully make She-Hulk look a little more realistic and little less rubbery.

Others are suggesting that we should simply apply some patience, and look to other Marvel movies and shows for assurance. Though that assurance will only come depending on which Marvel project you use for reference…

The general consensus following the release of the first footage from She-Hulk: Attorney at Law though certainly seems to be that more work needs to be done before the Marvel hero makes her debut.

Much like some of the most beloved comic book runs led by She-Hulk, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will lean more heavily into the comedic aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even more so than ever before. The legal-comedy series sees Bruce Banner step in to help put his cousin, Jennifer Walters, when she needs an emergency blood transfusion. Mixing his blood with hers results in Jennifer gaining similar powers to her cousin, with the lawyer now able to transform into a 6-foot-7, green superhero.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is being led by Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walter AKA She-Hulk, who is a lawyer specialising in superhuman-oriented legal cases. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame star Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner AKA The Hulk in the series, alongside The Incredible Hulk star Tim Roth, who steps back into the role of Emil Blonsky AKA Abomination.

Created by Jessica Gao with Kat Coiro leading the directing team, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law also stars Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jon Bass.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on August 17, 2022, and will consist of nine episodes as part of Phase Four of the MCU.

Are Max and Yasmine From Lovestruck High Still Together?

As its name suggests, Prime Video’s ‘Lovestruck High‘ takes a bunch of eligible singles from the United Kingdom and puts them straight into an American High School setting, complete with a principal, homeroom teacher, and sports coach. While attending classes and going about a high-schooler’s daily routine, the contestants are tasked with finding a partner for the end-of-year prom. However, not everyone will get the chance to attend the prom, and only one’s actions can decide if they are to be expelled next.

Max O’Dwyer understood the meaning of love at first sight when he came across Yasmine Rabeea in season 1 of ‘Lovestruck High.’ The 23-year-old Brentwood-based personal trainer seemed utterly smitten with Yasmine, 25, who earns her living as a model in London. Surprisingly, the 25-year-old seemed to reciprocate Max’s feelings, and the two even attended the first homecoming dance together. Nevertheless, with cameras now turned away, fans want to know whether the couple is still together. Let’s find out, shall we?

Max and Yasmine’s Lovestruck High Journey

Interestingly, Max seemed interested in Yasmine right from the beginning when the contestants were being introduced to each other. Moreover, unlike most others, who decided to keep their options open, Max was quite fixated on chasing Yasmine and even told Geoff how the model’s personality and characteristics were precisely what he wanted. However, the homecoming dance was almost upon them, and the contestants had very little time to pick out a perfect partner. Thus, Max decided to gather his courage and talk to Yasmine in order to get to know her better.

Surprisingly, their first meeting took place in a library, and Max mentioned that he was not a regular sight in such an establishment but had to pop in because of Yasmine. Nevertheless, their meeting went quite well, and the two seemed to have a lot in common. Besides, Max even asked Yasmine to attend the homecoming dance with him, and she happily accepted. Later she even turned down a dance request with Huss since she had already said yes to Max.

While talking about Max, Yasmine mentioned that he is her type, and she does find him extremely cute. Moreover, she also revealed how the pair of them get all gooey and lovey-dovey while talking to each other. Although some might find such a relationship cringy, the London-based model explained how she found the feeling to be quite adorable and refreshing.

While at the homecoming dance, Max and Yasmine cozied up to each other, and their brilliant chemistry was pretty apparent. They also stood out as one of the few genuine couples who did not have their eyes on anyone else. Although Yasmine mentioned that she never kisses on the first date, the couple got lost in each other and ended up sharing a passionate kiss. Moreover, their relationship flourished further in the following episodes, and fans speculated that they might go all the way.

Are Max O’Dwyer and Yasmine Rabeea Still Together?

Unfortunately, ever since filming wrapped, Max and Yasmine have preferred to keep their personal life under wraps and haven’t revealed much. Both follow each other on social media and have maintained a friendly relationship with the rest of their castmates. Yet, they have rarely interacted with each other in the public sphere.

These days, Max seems to be busy with his profession as a personal trainer, while Yasmine is enjoying life in the French capital. Thus, although we would love to be proven wrong, it seems like Max and Yasmine could not make their relationship work and are now living independent lives.
