The Ogun State Government has announced that it is fast-tracking the prosecution of Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, over a series of road crashes, including one that left two people seriously injured earlier this month.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, the government said the case relating to the 1 November 2025 crash in Sagamu is being prioritised for prompt arraignment.
On that day, Abiodun reportedly rammed his vehicle into two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger with serious injuries. Witnesses said he attempted to flee the scene without showing remorse, prompting an angry reaction from bystanders who mobbed him before police intervention.
The Ogun State Police Command subsequently began investigating the incident while ensuring the victims received medical care and privacy.
The Ministry also confirmed that Abiodun was involved in another crash on 23 November 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State. The lone-vehicle incident nearly hit pedestrians, who escaped harm through quick reflexes. This marks at least the third road crash in two months allegedly caused by Abiodun while driving.
According to the Ministry, while many traffic collisions can be treated as civil matters with compensation for victims, some road users pose a repeated and significant danger to the public and must face criminal accountability. It described Abiodun as “one such person,” noting that at least two of the incidents were captured on video and showed clear recklessness.
Citing mounting public concern over his continued driving, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed that the Sagamu crash case be expedited. The Ministry said it is working closely with the police to ensure swift legal action.
