The fallout from MSNBC canceling Joy Reid’s The ReidOut is turning into a full-on media war, with former CNN anchor Don Lemon stepping in to defend his longtime friend while taking some personal shots at Megyn Kelly.

Last week, MSNBC officially pulled the plug on The ReidOut, marking the end of Joy Reid’s run in the 7 p.m. slot. While some viewed the decision as just another shake-up in the world of cable news, former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly saw it as a reason to celebrate—and she made sure everyone knew it.

Megyn Kelly Mocks Joy Reid’s Cancellation—And Don Lemon Fires Back

After the news broke that Joy Reid’s show had been canceled, Megyn Kelly wasted no time gloating over the decision. The former Fox News host—who has had longstanding issues with Reid—suggested that MSNBC had finally wised up and realized that Reid was a “bad journalist.”

That’s when Don Lemon jumped into the conversation, defending Reid and putting Kelly on blast in the process.

In a sharp clapback, Lemon mocked Kelly’s obsession with other journalists losing their jobs, but he didn’t stop there. He took things to a personal level, suggesting that Megyn’s husband, Doug Brunt, might be a closeted gay man.

Lemon didn’t mince words, telling Megyn to ask her husband to “stop looking at [his] husband.”

A Personal and Professional Feud

Lemon and Kelly have been at odds for years, frequently exchanging jabs over issues like race, media bias, and LGBTQ+ rights.

Kelly, who built her career at Fox News, has often criticized liberal media figures, and Reid has been one of her favorite targets. She has repeatedly accused Reid of spreading misinformation and has mocked MSNBC’s struggles with ratings.

Lemon, on the other hand, has never held back when it comes to calling out right-wing media personalities, especially ones like Kelly who once played into conservative talking points at Fox News, only to rebrand herself after leaving the network.

Will Megyn Respond?

While Megyn Kelly hasn’t responded to Lemon’s comment yet, social media is already buzzing about the spicy exchange. Some fans are cheering Lemon on, while others are calling him out for taking the fight into personal territory.

Regardless, one thing is certain—this feud is far from over. If history is any indication, Megyn Kelly isn’t the type to let a comment like that slide.

So the question now is: Will Megyn fire back, or will she let Don Lemon have the last word?
