Donald Trump and Karoline Leavitt bombshell footage sparks outrage online

Donald Trump and Karoline Leavitt seemingly had a tense exchange hours before she suddenly announced she was stepping down as his press secretary. Leaked footage from Marine One, the US President’s helicopter, shows the pair sat opposite each other, while another aide sits to Mr Trump’s right.

Mrs Leavitt can be seen talking to the other aide and letting out a deep sigh at one point. The footage was purportedly captured just hours before she stepped down as White House Press Secretary to spend more time with her two children, which she called a “bittersweet decision”.

Social media users were quick to react to the clip on X, with some saying it’s nothing more than a normal conversation between Mr Trump and the two aides.

One person wrote: “Yeah sure. Let’s conclude so much about so little. If you wanted, you could have just as easily concluded that they were discussing Karoline’s new schedule or a bad place to get a haircut.”

Another commented: “Tense exchange? Trump is on the phone and she is basically waiting quietly. She has an exchange with the other woman who is SMILING. My second baby is what made me quit my job too. Ridiculous post.”

A third added: “Visibly isolated? She’s within 5 feet of both of them and the woman speaks to her while Trump is on phone. What’s the point of trying to make something out of nothing?! Very conservative like. Not a good look.”

Mrs Leavitt had recently returned to her role following the birth of her daughter, Viviana, in May.

She called it the “honour and adventure of a lifetime” to serve as press secretary in a lengthy X post announcing her resignation and new job as an adviser to the US President “on the outside”.

She wrote: “Being a mother and welcoming a new baby while working in one of the most demanding jobs in the world has been the most rewarding yet challenging season of my life, to say the least.

“The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life.”

Mr Trump also announced the news on Truth Social, calling her a “real leader”, “fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom”.

He wrote: “Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!

“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.

“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024.

“Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
