Nollywood actress Mary Lazarus has offered a word of advice to her colleague, Moyo Lawal, following her emotional video.
Kemi Filani reported on New Year’s Eve that Moyo had shed light on her leaked tape with her former partner. She claimed that her ex blamed her for the tape, telling her it was her fault because she didn’t post him on her social media. Moyo made it known that she was flipping the switch and looking forward to an entirely new character and adventure.
Showing support for her, Lazarus, in a lengthy post on her Instagram page, made Moyo know that she isn’t condemned. She admonished her not to live in regret, as life is too short to be trapped by yesterday.
Mary told her to learn from it, grow from it, and leave it behind. She said the past is a place of reference, not a place of residence.

My dear @moyolawalofficial
I have said this to you in private and will say it in public as well.
And this is also for anyone who finds themselves in this kind of situation.
I’m using a few scriptures that have helped shape my own life.
I want you to know this fast. You aren’t condemned. The Bible says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
What has happened does not define you, and it doesn’t reduce your worth in any way.
Jesus himself said, “He who is without sin should cast the first stone (John 8:7). We all have a past; we all have moments we wish we could undo.
Anyone pointing fingers has forgotten that everyone has their own struggles, even the ones they hide so well.
Please don’t live in regret. Life is too short to be trapped by yesterday.
Learn from it, grow from it, and leave it behind.
The past is a place of reference, not a place of residence.
The Bible reminds us that “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” ( Proverbs 17:22).
Don’t allow this pain to crush your spirit.
Guard your heart.
Healing is your portion.
And never forget this promise: “For I know the plans I have for you, “says the Lord.
“Plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and an expected end”. (Jeremiah 29:11).
God’s plans for you are still intact.
This moment cannot cancel His purpose over your life.
It is okay to acknowledge the mistake. It is okay to learn from it.
But please don’t dwell there.
Rise, move forward and walk in grace.
You are deeply loved.
Here’s to a great year ahead.
Cheers to 2026.
A year of healing, restoration, joy, and new beginnings.
Happy Birthday, ML Bugatti”.
Kemi Filani reported last year that Moyo was mercilessly dragged online after her tape leaked with many slamming her for being gullible to allow a man to record a tape of her, despite the series of leaked tapes among celebrities.
Issuing a public statement, Moyo revealed that the partner in the video was her ex-fiance, and threatened legal action, stating that the video was released without her permission, thereby violating her privacy and trust.
Shedding more light on it, Moyo revealed that she only had s3x twice in 2022 one of which birth the leaked tape. She admitted that she agreed to film the tape with him because he doesn’t reside in Nigeria and besides, they were already planning to get married.
Some of her colleagues like Mary Njoku, Uche Maduagwu, Prince Eke, and others reacted to the tape. While Mary Njoku slammed Nigerians for always blaming the victims, Uche Maduagwu called for AGN to suspend Moyo Lawal and Prince Eke questioned if any brand would approach her.
