In a shocking act of mob justice, a referee in Bukavu, DR Congo, was ly,nched and set on f,ire by an enraged crowd.
Patrick Ngalamulume, known as “Ngalas,” was attacked and killed in the Irambo neighborhood between May 5 and 6, 2025.
Accused of theft without evidence, the 36-year-old football official was bru,tally b,eaten and b,urned alive by locals, with no intervention from bystanders or emergency services.
This ho,rrific act highlights the rising security issues in eastern DR Congo, where instability and armed rebel groups like AFC M23 have led to increased violence and mob justice.
Ngalamulume, respected in the local football community, had no criminal record, making his death even more tragic.
