There was some drama in Oyo State on Saturday when men of the Nigerian police and a bouncer engaged in physical altercation at the 2025 Ibadan cultural festival.

The Grand Finale of 2025 Ibadan Cultural Festival took place at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke Ado, Ibadan, Oyo State.

In the video sighted by IntelRegion, trouble started when a bouncer, tasked with enforcing access control, stopped an attendee from entering the venue.

A police officer, accompanied by colleagues, intervened and ordered the bouncer to let the guest in. But the bouncer refused, pulling the attendee back which angered the officers.

Within seconds, tensions exploded as officers charged at the bouncer, prompting others to join the fray. The situation nearly turned violent before a guest and another officer stepped in, urging the bouncer to back down and let the matter go.

The Ibadan Cultural Festival, also known as “Ibadan Week,” is an annual, week-long celebration hosted by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).

It’s a showcase of Ibadan’s culture, history, and potential, aiming to attract tourists and promote economic development.

The festival is coordinated by the CCII, an umbrella body for Ibadan-based organizations, clubs, and societies, both within Nigeria and abroad.
