Popular Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo, have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) during a midnight raid on Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The NDLEA confirmed the operation in a statement issued on Sunday, revealing that over 100 guests were apprehended during the raid, which took place in the early hours of October 26, 2025.
According to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Publicity, officers recovered cartons of banned substances, including Loud (a potent strain of cannabis) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), from both the party venue and the club’s storage areas.
“In Lagos, NDLEA operatives in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Night Club at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was going on,” Babafemi said.
“Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening. Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from suspects at the party and the club’s store.”
He added that the raid followed credible intelligence reports about the drug-related gathering. NDLEA operatives reportedly embedded themselves at the event from 11 p.m. on Saturday and disrupted the party at 3 a.m. on Sunday in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Confirming his arrest, Tuoyo shared a post on his Instagram page, writing: “I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a nightclub in Lagos for basically doing nothing at all since around 4 a.m. They made us sit down like criminals — we are over 150 people here at the NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi. We didn’t commit any crime; they came into the club with guns and told everyone to lie down.”
The NDLEA said all arrested individuals would undergo screening and drug tests, adding that those who test positive or are found culpable will face prosecution under Nigeria’s narcotics laws.
The agency also warned that owners of establishments found to have facilitated or encouraged drug-related activities could face sanctions, including possible property forfeiture.
