Dune star Dave Bautista promises that this year’s sequel, Dune: Part Two, will be far more “amped up” than its predecessor. Speaking with Collider, Bautista helped push the hype train into super-speed, teasing the epic scope of the movie and its cutthroat, intense political chicanery. Bautista briefly portrayed Rabban “Beast” Harkonnen, the nephew of Baron Harkonnen, in the first Dune with the actor due to play a much bigger role in the follow-up. Dune: Part Two will continue the journey of Paul Atreides, united with Chani and the Fremen, as he seeks revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Bautista will be just one part of a huge, star-studded ensemble cast the includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling and Stephen McKinley Henderson. If that were not already enough, Dune: Part Two will add several major names to the roster such as Elvis star Austin Butler, Hollywood icon Christopher Walken, No Time to Die’s Léa Seydoux, and Black Widow star Florence Pugh.
With such a stacked cast in tow, and with the political game now all set up, it’s no surprise why things will be so much more amped up when Dune: Part Two lands in theaters on November 3, 2023.
Before his return as The Beast, audiences can next see Dave Bautista give “one of the best performances of the year” in director M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin. Based on the 2018 novel The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul G. Tremblay, Knock at the Cabin centers on a young girl and her parents who, while vacationing at a remote cabin in the woods, are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand they make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. Confused, scared, and with limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Dune star Dave Bautista will lead these mysterious strangers, with the rest of Knock at the Cabin cast comprised of Tony award and Emmy nominee Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag), BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion, Old), newcomer Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn (Little Women, Landline) and Rupert Grint (Servant, the Harry Potter franchise).
Knock at the Cabin is scheduled to be released on February 3, 2023 by Universal Pictures.
