Nollywood actress Judy Austin has urged young women to avoid rushing into marriage until they are fully prepared mentally and emotionally.

Speaking from her own life experiences, she pointed out the risks of early marriage, including divorce and the challenges of raising children alone.

Naijaonpoint reports that Austin in a video on her Instagram page advised women against marrying a man simply because of pregnancy, saying such decisions often lead to regret.

She encouraged asking oneself whether it is truly possible to spend a lifetime with a partner before committing to marriage.

According to her, being mentally ready is essential for handling the responsibilities and challenges of a marital relationship.

The actress also encouraged personal growth before marriage, advising women to date, learn about people, and trust mainly in themselves and God.

She said focusing on self-reliance, work, and emotional preparedness can help women make better choices in relationships.

Austin reflected on the consequences of early marriage, saying that many women face divorce or struggle with children they are not prepared to care for.

She highlighted that early marriages have caused pain for many women, leaving some to disappear after childbirth due to the pressures.

Judy Austin married Yul Edochie as his second wife in April 2022, and the couple has three children.

She was previously married, but that union ended in 2013.
