
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Monday re-added Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii on their portal as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the March 11, 2023 general election.
The name reappeared on the third amendment list signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, on Monday.
Mrs. Anthony in the statement explained that the third list amendment became necessary due to various court orders it was served and death, correction of errors made by political parties.
The third amendment came after the commission on December 22, 2022, delisted Odii and his deputy alongside the National Assembly candidates except the candidate for Ezza North/Ishielu federal constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Nwite, whose name appeared through a court order.
But the INEC in the third replaced the name of Hon. Idu Igariwe, the member representing Afikpo North/South federal constituency, who is contesting for the same position with Mr. Irem Ibom Oka that just lost a court case to Mr Tony Eko for same position in Labor Party.
Also in the amended list, is the name of Mr. Linus Okorie, a former member of the House of Representatives as the Senatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Ebonyi South zone.
