Ebro Darden offered thanks to DJ Akademiks, claiming that their feud has only helped to grow his audience.
The radio personality believes DJ Akademiks and Drake understand exactly how attention works, even when it comes wrapped in insults.
“Ak promoted my Apple show yesterday. He promoted this show yesterday. A lot, bro,” said Ebro.
The comments follow Drake publicly celebrating the cancellation of Ebro In The Morning, a long running Hot 97 program that frequently criticized the rapper. Ebro was quick to respond on X, accusing Drake and Akademiks of being “right wing.”
Fellow host Peter Rosenberg soon chimed in, calling Drake’s behavior disappointing and suggesting the show’s ending could mark a turning point.
“It’s behavior like this that has made it impossible for people to defend the wack s–t that he does,” Rosenberg wrote, adding that he still wished Drake well despite the celebration.
The exchange escalated when Akademiks jokingly prescribed ayahuasca to cool things down. Ebro then shared alleged direct messages from Drake, including one that read, “Die slower p—y. We got some s–t for you.”
Rosenberg reacted cautiously, later saying, “It feels like a threat,” and even joked that Ebro should consider legal action. Ebro, however, remains unbothered. “They’re helping me,” he said.
